Questions & answers

How is my payout calculated? ›
It's straightforward: your payout equals (premium minus the 7% platform fee) multiplied by 1.9×. For a 10 USDC premium, that's 9.30 USDC net × 1.9 = 17.67 USDC. This formula is fixed in the smart contract — it applies to every policy, without exception.
When can I claim? ›
Claims are available only after your policy period ends — 7, 10, or 30 days from purchase. If a trigger was recorded during that window, the Claim button appears in your dashboard automatically. Note that trigger monitoring starts 2 hours after you buy, not immediately.
Where does weather data come from? ›
Weather readings are pulled from Open-Meteo and submitted on-chain every 10 minutes via the Arc Oracle contract. Every data point is timestamped and publicly verifiable on the Arc Network explorer.
Why does my threshold need to differ from current conditions? ›
To prevent policies from triggering immediately at purchase, your threshold must be meaningfully different from current conditions: temperature triggers require ±3°C separation; rain/drought need ±2mm; wind needs at least +5 km/h above current speed. The form will flag it if you're too close.
Are there payout limits? ›
Yes. Each wallet is capped at 60 USDC in payouts per rolling 7-day period, and there's a 48-hour cooldown between policy purchases. Individual premium amounts range from 5 to 20 USDC per policy.
Which wallets are supported? ›
MetaMask, OKX Wallet, Rainbow, and Coinbase Wallet are all supported. You'll need testnet USDC on Arc Network — the network config is added to your wallet automatically the first time you connect.
